Why This Matters
I was reading the January–February issue of Harvard Business Review, which referenced new research on how employee connections impact firm performance.
The findings were striking.
Researchers analyzed 12 million connections across 2 million professionals on a large networking platform and found that when employees are widely known by others — especially external stakeholders — their companies benefit in tangible ways.
Organizations with these well-connected employees experienced:
- lower coordination costs (calls returned faster, information flows more easily)
- stronger reputations and visibility
- more government contracts
- broader and more favorable media coverage
In short: connection paid off — not just personally, but organizationally.
The research emphasized something important:
It’s not just who you know — it’s who knows you.
Why Win With Washington
Win With Washington, a relationship-driven business community, is designed to help professionals build meaningful connections beyond their immediate circles — across industries, roles, and perspectives. Our mission is to inspire authentic business growth through personal connection, servant leadership, and relentless execution.
This isn’t transactional networking.
We lift each other first. Washington. With Washington. For Washington.
It’s intentional relationship-building that strengthens individuals and the organizations they represent.
You’re Invited
If you’re curious, open, and value connections that extend beyond your inner circle, I hope you’ll join us on January 13.
