The Art of Co-Branding - Better Together

Making a Lasting Impression is easy when you co-brand with a retail name your recipient already loves.  

As I reflect on how my business has changed over the last two years, the request for premium products is the most significant trend I have observed. The promotional products industry has aggressively created partnerships with companies your employees and customers covet, so you can add your logo to just about any retail brand name.

The co-branding process creates a greater perceived value to gift-giving. According to HubSpot, “Co-branding is a strategic marketing and advertising partnership between two brands wherein the success of one brand brings success to its brand partner.” When thinking about how to delight the people who matter most to your business, imagine the experience you want to be remembered for when the recipient receives the item you give them.  

There are four factors to keep in mind when you choose premium promotional products:

  • Choose retail brands your target audience is interested in.
  • Identify a premium brand your company will benefit from being associated with. For example, select a brand with a “give-back” program allowing the recipient to choose a noble cause they direct the manufacturer to allocate funds to as part of the item they receive.
  • Pick retail brands with shared values. Perhaps your company is focused on sustainability, then seek out products that are made from recycled materials.
